Escape and Unplug

Glamping offers a digital detox. If you're seeking respite from screens and notifications, a chance to disconnect from the virtual world and reconnect with nature and loved ones, then the wild allure of glamping beckons.

Luxury in the Wild

Glamping promises the best of both worlds. It's for those who relish the idea of sleeping on fine linens in a cozy bed under the stars, yet yearn to spend their days hiking, swimming, or lounging by a campfire.

Adventure Seeker

If you have an adventurous spirit, glamping opens the door to countless activities – from hiking and fishing to stargazing and wildlife encounters. It's a canvas for your outdoor passions.

Peaceful Seclusion

Glamping offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle. If you desire seclusion, a chance to unwind in serene natural surroundings, and the soothing sounds of nature as your backdrop, then it's a perfect match.

What to Bring

The Wildflower is an off-grid experience, so there are some essentials you will need to bring along with you. If you forget something, don’t worry! There is a convenience store a few miles down the road.

The weather fluctuates a lot in the mountains. Be prepared for cooler nights, hours of warm sun, pop up showers, etc.

There is no running water on our offgrid property. Pack enough with you or make a stop at Staggs Crossing during your stay.

Similar to #1, the weather fluctuates which can lead to wet or muddy conditions. You can still pack some cute shoes but make sure you have at least one option you don’t mind getting full of earth.

We have a propane grill and a grill grate for the campfire. There are lots of great camping recipes online so find some favorites and pack what you need. There is no refrigerator so bring a cooler and ice if you need to keep items cool. You can always run to Staggs for an ice refill.

Recommended during the warmer months. Even if you don’t end up needing them, they’re always great to have on hand. We haven’t found either at Staggs so even more reason to bring some along!

Unless you venture to Oakland, Keyser or Deep Creek, you won’t find a wide selection of beer or any wine in the immediate area so bring your favorites with you! If you’re a macro beer or hard seltzer drinker then you should be all set with Staggs’ selection.

The creek has a nice pebbled bottom as opposed to the mucky bottoms of other creeks which makes it very enjoyable to walk out into. Water shoes make walking up and down the creek that much more comfortable but certainly aren’t a must if you plan on parking a chair and staying put in the waterfront by the aframe. During the warmer months, make sure you pack your bathing suit as you can jump off the rocks into a swimming hole. It’s super refreshing on a hot day! We supply towels beach towels May through October.

Explore the Wildflower

The Wildflower is your home base for any adventure. Whether you take a day trip to hike Blackwater Falls State Park or stay put to splash in the creek all day, we’ve got a soft spot to rest and a warm fire ready.

Embracing Nature

Ultimately, glamping is about embracing nature without sacrificing comfort. It’s for those who crave adventure, seek serenity, and are ready to write their own wild and wonderful story in the heart of the great outdoors.
